Fire Water Tank Inspection

Overview

As part of the LPC Rules for Automatic Sprinkler Installations 2015 incorporating BS EN12845, at no more than 10-Year intervals, all storage tanks shall be examined internally.

Inspectahire understand why clients may not want a fire water tank drained for the internal inspection process. That is why we provide full ROV surveys, using high-spec submersible digital camera equipment and ultrasound. Full water supply is maintained throughout the inspection, keeping sprinkler systems available throughout the inspection. This method also conserves water and eliminates the need for re-commissioning a sprinkler tank, reducing costs.

When Inspectahire inspects a sprinkler tank and its connection points, we include:

  • Full analysis of the sprinkler tank’s panels and walls
  • Careful review of any roof and its supports
  • Inlet valves, contents gauges and immersion heater elements
  • Access routes, including ladders
  • All the pipe connection points

Tank Inspections are carried out on sites throughout in the UK, and our Technicians are all qualified in PCN and EEMUA 159 and produce full (Fit for Purpose) reports. Tank Inspection is normally carried out in conjunction with other NDT methods to produce a comprehensive Inspection Service.
